AccomodationIf you're planning to spend a few days in Stockholm before or after the wedding most U.S. travel sites, such as www.kayak.com, www.priceline.com, www.expedia.com, www.hotels.com, and www.orbitz.com are all very good for booking of hotels. As within the U.S. it pays to try a couple of sites for the best rates, but we recommend starting with www.kayak.com. Location is key as Stockholm is easily walked. A few of the more highly-regarded and centrally-located hotels that we can recommend are listed here. Grand Hotel (Östermalm) - Generally this hotel is considered Stockholm’s grandest hotel and is ideally situated right on the water across from the Royal Palace. For more information, visit Grand Hotel Stockholm. Strand Hotel (Östermalm) - This hotel is in the same category as the Grand Hotel but perhaps not as famous. It overlooks the waterways of Stockholm and is walking distance to Old Town, the Royal Castle, and the upscale neighborhood of Östermalm and the food halls of Östermalms Saluhall. For more information, visit Radisson SAS Strand Hotel. Berns Hotel (City Center) - Centrally located by Berzelii Park and right in the heart of Stockholms's shopping, restaurants, and nightlife, but also sightseeing and one of the main harbours for city boat tours. All hotel guests can enjoy free access to the highly-regarded Sturebadet Grand Fitness, an exquisite facility for fitness and spa. This hotel also features Berns Salonger and the China Theatre. For more information about the hotel, visit Berns Hotel. Hotell Kung Carl (City Center) - Centrally located by Stureplan and close to shopping, restaurants, and sightseeing. Each room is decorated from classical elegance to modern design. For more information, visit Best Western Premier Hotell Kung Karl. Sheraton (City Center/Central Station) - A modern American style hotel centrally located and across the street from the Central Station. For more information, visit Sheraton Stockholm Hotel. Nordic Light (City Center/Central Station) - For the hip and trendy this hotel features a modern Scandinavian style. Centrally located and only a step away from the Central Station and across the street to the Arlanda Express Train Station. Each room offers light therapy where you can set the colors to reflect your mood. For more information, visit Nordic Light Hotel. First Hotel Reisen (Old Town/Gamla Stan) - Located on the waterfront in Old Town and only a few steps away from the Royal Palace. For more information, visit First Hotel Reisen. Hilton (Södermalm) - An American hotel chain but with Swedish contemporary decor and style. Located at Slussen by the waters of Riddarfjärden and only two minutes from Old Town and the trendy Södermalm area. For more information, visit Hilton Stockholm Slussen.
